A Blessed Mothers Day

Sunday, May 8, 2011
Mothers day was perfect. I got to spend it with 2.5 of my favorite people in the whole entire world. The .5 is Eli since he is not quite here yet. I have compiled a few of my favorite pictures of Zack and I. Followed by a little poem thing someone sent me today that made me really emotional (thank you pregnancy) and it is to all the moms out there who have sacrificed more than their bodies and minds for the joys of just a giggle, hug, and kiss.

I would say this was taken around early November. Can't you tell by my face I am so excited to be hugely pregnant. ;)

The day he was born November 22nd 2008, 7Ibs 9oz. I believe I was sleeping I really don't remember and wish I did. All I know is I was completely in love with that little man.

This was about a week after being home from the hospital. I really wanted to take a pretty picture of Zack and I for Steven.

Zacks first 4th of July 2009. I was so concerned for his little ears but just look at that face, totally confused.

First family pictures. They told me to be natural with him so he and I just looked at each other and started laughing. We have had insides jokes and looks since he was very little.

Waiting for Daddy. This was Daddies homecoming gift from Mommy.

His first time at the pool. I cannot believe Eli will be sitting in this next summer.

I just absolutely love him but this is from about a year ago.
And finally my most recent picture with him. Of course I am more concerned with what he is doing than smiling at the camera.
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom

Easter

For Easter we had a little joint party at a friends house this year. We had such a great time and Zack really enjoyed himself. Especially after he figured out all the eggs had either chocolate or jelly beans in them. Lesson learned from this year, don't put chocolate in Easter eggs not realizing they probably will melt. The kids hunted and got there fill on eggs while the adults indulged in some ribs, hash brown casserole and a yummy trifle. All in all we had a great day but we were exhausted.
Two days later it was my birthday and although Steven had duty that day, I felt the love from everyone. Thank you for the birthday wishes and gifts everyone. It really made this busy, tired, pregnant moms day. Enjoy the pictures below!

When Zack met Mario

Saturday, May 7, 2011

So Zack really doesn't know who Super Mario is and I don't really think he cares that much about it. He prefers Gabba and well....Gabba. The other day we had a nice little family outing. I (mommy) HAD to have some Tropical Smoothie. So we jumped in the car and went to ease my craving for a yummy get up and goji smoothie. Right next to the Tropical Smoothie on the CNU campus is an arcade place. They had a guy dressed as super mario. Zack went right up to him and enjoyed every minute of it. Enjoy...

Come on mom, 5 more minutes!

Sunday, April 3, 2011
Is it just me or is time going way too fast lately? I feel like Steven and I were still in New Mexico playing wii with his parents not knowing the next day was going to change EVERYTHING. We really need to get a move on preparing for the baby. I just really feel weird getting things "ready" because it still feels too soon but I am just about 18 weeks. Before I know it we will be doing everything last minute and I really don't want that. I don't think anybody wants that but unfortunately it happens to the best of us. Tomorrow I am going to start packing up things from my desk and all the unwanted books we have piled all over it. These of course are all mine because I have a hard time getting rid of books. I gives all my thanks to my mom for that trait. My nightstand is going to take over as my desk because we will be selling it to make room for the baby. Then I plan on getting all my arts and crafts junk out from under my bed and organizing it in my closet. If you know me and my artsy self you are probably cringing at the thought of the mess I have ahead of me. Our furniture will be rearranged to make room for the changing table, co-sleeper/pack & play, and glider. I think we are going to brave it and put our coffee table back in the living. Let's pray Zack won't hurt himself too bad on it, he has to learn at some point right? Let's just say I want this all done before we find out what were having so I can totally jump into the decorating process especially if we are having a girl. Oh yeah did I mention I am STILL decorating Zacks room.

To put all this simply I have a lot of work ahead of me and I wish I could be that kid again so I can just say "5 more minutes!" in my whiniest voice ever. But in my case I can't because since these first 20 weeks have gone by waaaaayyyyyy to quickly I can only imagine how fast the next 20 will be. Wish me luck! Have a great night!

My Boys

I love the way they play together. The love they have for each other is amazing. When Steven was deployed I prayed that they would have a close relationship. Sure enough they are closer than I think a father and son could be. When Steven gets home from work Zack runs to him and won't let him go until bedtime. He asks me for Daddy all day and duty days are the worst because instead of asking he begs for him. Of course when I am gone Steven does inform me that all Zack can talk about is MaMa. We are praying for another healthy and happy baby but deep down inside of me I want another little boy. Of course it will be nice to have everything already and not worry about buying new clothes and what not. I just want Steven to have another son to have this same relationship with. I am sure he would be a great Daddy to a little girl but there is just something different with a father son relationship that's just special. That is just what has been crossing my mind lately. Of course pray that this baby is a healthy, strong, beautiful, little blessing because that is what matters most.

Just an update on everything else going on. Zack is doing good he says his ABC's and 123's with me and also knows most of his colors. Our next ultrasound is April 16th! We are really excited about this appointment because we will get to see our baby and find out for sure what we are having. The baby has been moving around a lot and yes I can feel it. I am also showing but we will post a picture later on when I feel more comfortable. Next week is our next OB appointment so stay tuned for that post. Enjoy these last two pictures of Zack that I have managed to edit this evening. We love you all and will continue to keep you all updated.

The Talking Bear!

Saturday, February 26, 2011
Well as I said in my last post, Zacks vocabulary has been growing like crazy. So in an attempt to keep him from interrupting Steven who was writing a letter to Verizon (because they are evil). I decided to pull out my phone and record him chit chatting a little. I hope you enjoy the video and as I said pictures will be following soon.

The world according to Z

Sunday, February 20, 2011
I wish I had new pictures for everyone but we just don't. At least not right now but soon I will harvest the energy from somewhere and post some. We have so many on the camera that have yet to be uploaded to the computer. I promise within this week there will be new pictures.

Now onto more fun and exciting news. As most of the people who read the blog already know that we are expecting baby number 2. No I don't know what is and yes I am dying of morning sickness. I have to say that this pregnancy is completely different from when I was expecting Zack. I swear I am getting every symptom I managed to weasel my way out of the last time around. At least I can be reassured that this pregnancy is a healthy one and on top of that Steven will be home this time around. My next OB appointment is on the 1st so I am looking forward to that.
Lately I have been catching up on some much needed reading and resting (when Z allows it). I am picking up all the old books that I picked up in the past got too busy or bored with it and just put it away. This has been a fun and interesting experience because with some of the books I feel like an idiot for putting down such a great read. For others I have realized why I stopped reading them. I plan on reading all of my old books so Steven and I can pack them up and send them on their way to a used bookstore in Williamsburg where I will earn credit to bring home more books.
I know why everyone is reading my blog and it has nothing to do with Steven and I. You all just want to hear about Zack and that is perfectly fine because I LOVE to talk about him. He is doing very well and is growing more everyday. He has been talking our ears off with demands for Gabba and talks about animals. Especially birds, he loves birds since we have a little bird mommy and daddy building their nest outside our window in the tree. He is absolutely fascinated with them. He also has a thing for elephants right now for some reason he thinks they are funny. Which if you sit and think about it they are kind of funny looking creatures. Another new thing he has started is asking for things instead of pointing. He will ask us for water, milk, juice, crackers, chicken, cookies, books, animals, gabba, etc. He is also becoming quite the polite little man by saying "thank you" and "please." All in all he is right where he is supposed to be and I couldn't be more blessed to be home with him everyday to watch him grow.

As I said earlier pictures will be following sometime this week also I plan to update the blog often considering I no longer have a facebook.
